TOPICS 


Week 1 – Friday - Life cycle of the Varroa Destructor, Hands on oxalic acid mite treatment, various mite testing processes & mite count. Saturday – Reproductive  System of the Bee, Life Cycle of the Bee, Quality Genetic Diversity, Queen Rearing, Nucs, Pheromones, Digestive System of the Bee, Respiratory System of the Bee, Bee Diseases – Nosema, Tracheal Mites dissection, diagnosis and treatment, Varroa Mite Drop Count. 

 

Week 2 – Friday – Bee Foraging Behaviors, Pollen Baskets, Floral Fidelity, Paul  Stamets Research-Mushrooms. Saturday – Honey Extraction, Honey Labeling, Slide Identification, Interactive Student Review.


MEALS      Snacks, coffee, tea & water served Friday 

                 Light Breakfast, Lunch, snacks & drinks served Saturday   


FEES         $150 Two Weekends - One Member Rate
